Beer and Theology 6 Fall

NOTES:

I feel like I barely scratched the surface with this video. But that is why I invite comments! We assume pleasure is good, but aren’t the 7 deadly sins just extreme versions of good things? Desire becomes lust. Feasting becomes gluttony (drinking becomes drunkenness?). Entrepreneurship becomes greed. Rest becomes sloth. Justice becomes wrath. Admiration becomes envy. Confidence becomes pride. As for pain being evil… we have all heard, “No pain, no gain.” How stunningly counter-intuitive is it for us humans, who think we know what good and evil are, that God became incarnate as a baby in a barn and saved the world by surrendering to a horrifying death?

I want to credit the following sources…
